REGIONAL ELECTIONS 2024
Sunday 17 and Monday 18 November 2024
A civic manifesto for a politics built with attention to relationships and places.
“After weeks of work, we have delivered to Vincenzo Colla, as a contribution to the Center-Left Coalition’s program, a series of proposals from various regions and a programmatic manifesto resulting from the synthesis of the visions of 60 lists and civic movements that represent cohesive communities from the mountains to the plains, from the coast to the major cities: energies that are eager to get involved in this historic moment of distancing from politics more in its more traditional forms,” the coordinators of the process stated. “Listening to them and giving them space becomes a responsibility to develop new approaches to caring for the common good, making politics increasingly widespread, fair, forward-looking, and closer to people and their needs.”
“In the manifesto, which will be published on the websites of various civic lists, we have presented three major challenges to the incoming regional administration.” The coordinators continue: “First, we believe it is necessary to strengthen a dialogue in caring for the territories and the people who live there, bridging the sometimes perceived gap between the Regional body and the communities through participatory administrative tools with real impact and political humility. Second, we believe it is necessary to place planning, co-design, and prevention at the center of government actions, from collective health to the environment, to employment and the economy, encouraging the construction of networks capable of supporting and accompanying those in charge.
Finally, we believe it is essential to work on understanding and enhancing the cultures that permeate our territories: from artistic and historical heritage, through local traditions, to the cultures that originate from distant lands but that permeate our daily lives and social relationships.”
“Starting from these points and from what is written in more detail in the Manifesto,” they conclude, “we will participate in the program’s creation, supporting those who will act as spokespersons within the Coalition in support of Michele de Pascale, starting with candidates coming from a civic path.”
